Zuckerberg said Facebook didn’t bother to report when it hit the 750 million mark because it’s a metric that really doesn’t matter.

“You don’t measure the Internet’s value based on how many people use it,” he said moments earlier. “You measure it based on what you can do with it, on how it impacts the economy and things like that.”

While Facebook’s userbase continues to grow, sharing activity on the site is growing even more rapidly. Zuckerberg also announced that Facebook users are now sharing four billion things every day on Facebook.
